Me and the Tank Mertz had a great day of riding 4 hours and over 80 miles.

We made it to the Mansfield Ava exit and went back. The shoulder of the highway is pretty cool you can see where the horse and buggys roll. On the way back it gets a little bumpy and a little silent. There is no talking allowed when suffering only suffering allowed creeper style.

Looked for some free Sport Beans or a pair of bibs to match my Jelly Belly jersey all we could find was this team car so I thought it would be a good picture op to show some of my bicep next to it........oh yeah.......get ya some

RIP Mr. Penn

I went with my dad today to one of his friends funerals that I had met a few times. He and my dad had alot in common they both liked to drink and cuss and shoot guns. They also graduated from Glendale together and both served in the Vietnam war. Mike was an airborne Ranger really the man was a war hero if you must. Pulled from his obituary "He served with the US Army as an Airborne Ranger from 1966 to 1969. He served in Vietnam from 1968-1969 and was awarded a Bronze Star with V for Valor, three Purple Hearts, two Army Commendation Medals with V for Valor, numerous Air Medals, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device, the Vietnam Service Medal, plus earning the Combat Infantry Badge and Parachute Badge." I know he is in a better place now I still get astonished by all that he did for our country.

One of the hardest rides I have ever done. 6 climbs 66 miles over 8,000ft. Highway 7 climb has never been so hard

Wednesday Night ride

Meeting at Hopedale Baptist at NN and J highway in Ozark 6:00pm wednesday nights. There are gravel sections on this route about 2 miles or so.

Christy received her masters from MO state, we had a long day and a party for her.

One of the last rides I did. I haven't ridden in almost 11 days. I felt really good this day from my house I did the dogwood loop and then out to the barn swings and back home. I stopped for water once. I just wasn't getting tired. Now I'm out of shape and slow.

Tour de Hills

So me and Joey went down to Arkansas to race the Tour de Hills otherwise known as the Jasper disaster. I decided to race the 3/4 which I probably shouldn't have done but I'm in no shape to be racing anyways so I thought it might be fun to race with Joey. Climbers paradise......I think everyone in our category was a pretty good climber. I got dropped on the pruit climb first of the day but worked back up to the main field until Mt.Sherman I was able to hang about a third of the way up, and from then on I rode alone. On the descent into Ponca three cars were in front of me so all I could mustar up was 20 miles per hour when I should have been doing at least 30. I then came around this corner just thinking about the next climb out of Ponca and who do I see, my buddy Mike Mertz with his camera out ready to take a snapshot and Melz Melody had her head sticking out the window.

Mommy and daddy took me to Busiek today theriver crossings were high so dad had to hold onto my leash tight so I didn't get washed away.
